The tone quality and intonation that creates Mohammad Ahsan’s signature sound has come from decades of focused training and hard work. The flute player began his journey in the 70s and has since worked with various music directors and has established himself as one of the frontrunners in the art of flute playing. Ahsan has also had the opportunity to work with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on his debut album and was kept on for consequent recordings. His most unique collaboration was when he joined the Mekaal Hasan Band to create a blend of western, progressive sounds with traditional, south asian influences.

Mohammad Ahsan “Pappu” will be returned to Coke Studio in Season 10 to lift us with his flute playing as he appears with the Mekaal Hasan Band.
